Kyivpastrans overpaid 1.8 million UAH for the renovation of a dormitory belonging to the municipal enterprise.

An official from "Kyivpastrans" is suspected of embezzling budget funds intended for the renovation of the municipal enterprise's dormitory. According to investigators, the contracting organization completed a significantly smaller volume of work than stated in the documents and unjustifiably received over 1.8 million UAH. This was reported by the National Police press service on Wednesday, January 8.

Law enforcement officials established that in the summer of 2021, officials from "Kyivpastrans" of the Kyiv City State Administration and the contracting organization signed an agreement for the major renovation of one of the dormitories at the bus station in the Svyatoshyn district.

“Upon completion of the work, the head of one of the divisions of KP 'Kyivpastrans', in collusion with the head of the contracting organization, signed official documents that contained false information regarding the volumes and cost of the work actually performed”, the statement reads.

As a result, over 600,000 UAH was unjustifiably transferred to the account of the contracting organization from budget funds.

At the beginning of 2022, the municipal enterprise and the contracting organization signed another contract for additional repair work, which the contractor completed within a month. However, this time, in the documents signed by the official from "Kyivpastrans," the volume of work performed was inflated by nearly 1.2 million UAH. Consequently, the actions of the official caused damages to the state budget exceeding 1.8 million UAH.

The official has been charged under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: official forgery in conspiracy and embezzlement of budget funds. He faces up to 12 years in prison.

In September 2024, the director of the construction company also received a notice of suspicion. He is accused of official forgery and embezzlement of budget funds.
