The Boxing Federation of Ukraine has announced its exit from the IBA and its decision to join World Boxing.

Press Service of the Boxing Federation of Ukraine has announced its exit from the International Boxing Association (IBA), led by Russian Umar Kremlev. The FBU has already sent official documents regarding this decision to the organization.

Additionally, on September 9, 2024, the FBU submitted an application to join World Boxing. Active negotiations are currently underway, and approval of Ukraine's official membership in World Boxing is expected soon.

World Boxing, led by Boris van der Vorst, has done significant work to maintain boxing in the Olympic Games program. Key initiatives include the establishment of continental federations, organization of continental championships for various age groups, and conducting judges' and coaches' courses. All of these are essential conditions for the development of the global boxing community.

From March 18 to 21, a session of the IOC will take place in Olympia (Greece), during which a new president of the organization will be elected, and the issue of reinstating boxing in the program for the 2028 Olympic Games will be discussed.
