The former director of a utility company in Ivano-Frankivsk is suspected of overpaying 4.5 million UAH for heating services.

The former head of "Ivano-Frankivskteplokomunenergo," 45-year-old Yevheniy Herasymenko, was charged with official negligence on January 24, which resulted in losses of 4.5 million hryvnias for the company. The website "Kurs" reports that on January 27, the Ivano-Frankivsk City Court set a preventive measure for the suspect, requiring a bail of 30,000 hryvnias.

Yevheniy Herasymenko led "Ivano-Frankivskteplokomunenergo" from 2019 to 2022. According to the materials of the case, on November 18, 2021, the company signed a contract with LLC "Ivano-Frankivsk Teploenergo" for the transportation of thermal energy from the boiler house located at 34 Industrial Street. Investigators believe that during the signing of the agreement, Herasymenko failed to verify the information regarding thermal energy losses, resulting in "Ivano-Frankivskteplokomunenergo" overpaying by 4.5 million hryvnias.

Judge Iryna Pasternak imposed a preventive measure on Yevheniy Herasymenko, requiring a bail of 30,000 hryvnias. The suspect must appear in court at the first request until March 24, report any changes in employment and residence, surrender his foreign passport, and refrain from communicating with witnesses. The ruling can be appealed within five days at the Ivano-Frankivsk Appellate Court.

It is worth noting that Ivano-Frankivsk Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv reported in 2022 that he had dismissed Yevheniy Herasymenko from his position as director of "Ivano-Frankivskteplokomunenergo" because the company might have incorrectly calculated heating bills. "Kurs" adds that Yevheniy Herasymenko also landed in the register of corrupt officials for failing to submit his electronic declaration on time. For this, the court fined him 850 hryvnias in 2021.

Additionally, since February 2022, LLC "Ivano-Frankivsk Teploenergo" has been headed by Volodymyr Faldyna.
