The deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council requested a quick session due to the threat of shelling.
Valentin Boyko, a deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, suggested voting on key issues and closing the offline session of the regional council because of the danger of shelling.
This information emerged during a meeting held on Friday, November 22.
It is worth noting that during today's session, deputies were supposed to consider the candidacies of two deputy positions for the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, Anton Tabunshchyk.
At the beginning of the meeting, deputy Valentin Boyko pointed out that it is currently unsafe to hold the session in an offline format. He requested that the head of the regional council, Anton Tabunshchyk, put to a vote the proposal to discuss only the appointment of deputies and related issues during today's session.
- I speak on behalf of my family; I want to say that we have adopted the regulations of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, which clearly state that participation in council meetings is required. However, there is also a safety regulation based on common sense due to the situation that has fundamentally changed over the past three days across the country. If we have gathered, that is good. But I propose to consider only procedural matters that require offline discussion, specifically the election of deputies and the first deputy. Other issues should not be discussed at the Mykolaiv Regional Council meeting. We cannot afford to operate in a pre-war mode and spend 2-3-4-5 hours discussing certain matters and making decisions – this is not the time. I ask to put this proposal to a vote. Let’s consider two offline issues that require procedure and then adjourn, - suggested Valentin Boyko.
This proposal was put to a vote among the deputies of the Mykolaiv Regional Council but did not receive enough votes. There were 29 abstentions, five votes in favor, and four against.
