The suspect in the murder at the Ferry (Alyaud) descent, Arthur Vatsman, who has been in the Mykolaiv detention center for the seventh year, got married while in custody.
This was announced by the prosecutor during a motion to extend the preventive measure for the defendant.
In the prosecution's motion, it was stated that Arthur Vatsman was unmarried prior to his detention. However, he is now married, having tied the knot while still in the detention center.
Another suspect in this case, Elizabeth Semerikova, has recently given birth. By court order, she is currently under nighttime house arrest.
As previously reported, Arthur Vatsman requested the court to release him from the detention center and impose a milder preventive measure, citing deteriorating health conditions for himself, as well as for his wife and mother, who require a breadwinner.
During the investigative experiment, Arthur Vatsman claimed that the blows to Alena Shcherban were not inflicted by him, but by Ivan Pigarev. The same session examined the results of examinations, which indicated that on the bolt cutter used to kill the woman, in addition to traces of the deceased's blood, biological material belonging to Arthur Vatsman was found. No traces of Pigarev or Semerikova were discovered on the murder weapon.
