The "Chaklun-V" drone is agile and fast, and it is also resistant to the effects of Russian electronic warfare systems. According to OSINT analysts, the weight of its warhead is sufficient to cause a significant explosion at a large oil depot.

The oil depot at Engels airfield in the Saratov region of Russia may have been attacked by "Chaklun-V" drones on the night of January 7 to 8. This was reported by the OSINT analysts team "Oko Gora" on Telegram.

"The attack on the oil depot reportedly involved 'Chaklun-V' UAVs, based on the footage. The warhead weighs up to 20 kilograms, and the flight range is up to 700 kilometers," specialists found out.

As a result of the attack, a significant fire was observed in the vicinity of the oil depot for an extended period. Russian media reported at least 30 explosions in the city.

In terms of capabilities, the 'Chaklun-V' UAV is comparable to the UJ-22 and the well-known UJ-26 "Bober", with flight ranges reaching up to 800 kilometers, analysts from Defence Express noted.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense approved the supply of the "Chaklun" drone to the military back in October of last year. The manufacturer equipped the UAV with advanced technology that provides high resistance to electronic countermeasures. It is extremely challenging for Russian electronic warfare systems to jam it.

The software specifically developed by Ukrainian programmers allows for effective UAV operation in challenging weather conditions.

The "Chaklun V" drone has previously been used for attacks on targets in Russia: in June 2024, it struck the military airfield "Mozdok" in North Ossetia.

Recall that on the night of December 22, drones attacked the Russian city of Orel. Local authorities reported a fire at the oil depot in the settlement of Stalnoi Kon.

In the Russian city of Bryansk, UAVs hit the oil depot of the "Transneft" corporation. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large fire.
