A 58-year-old man from Transcarpathia perished in a car fire after becoming stranded on an unpaved road.

An extraordinary incident occurred in the village of Verkhnye Vodyane in the Rakhiv district on the night of November 24. A Geely vehicle burned in the middle of a field, and the body of its 58-year-old owner was found inside. Law enforcement is investigating all circumstances surrounding the event.

As reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region on November 25, the burned Geely was discovered in a field near Stara Street by a resident of Verkhnye Vodyane.

“It was established that the car owner was returning home with friends at night, drove onto an unpaved road, and was unable to get back onto the highway. His friends decided to walk to their homes, while the 58-year-old driver stayed to sleep in the car,” rescuers shared.

The body of the deceased was retrieved from the vehicle and handed over to law enforcement. They are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
