In Sheptytskyi, police apprehended an assailant who stabbed a passerby. A sudden conflict arose between the two men, escalating into a fight involving a knife.
According to investigators, on November 21 at approximately 4:20 PM, a conflict broke out on Shevchenko Avenue in Sheptytskyi between two men, which escalated into a brawl. The suspect stabbed the man in the chest and fled the scene. The victim, a 24-year-old resident of the Sheptytskyi district, was hospitalized with severe injuries.
Hospital staff informed the police about a patient with a penetrating chest wound. Investigators and forensic experts identified the suspect as a 40-year-old resident of Sheptytskyi.
Police arrested him and charged him under part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional grievous bodily harm). This offense carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
