On Saturday, February 1, employees of the Lviv Customs discovered a smuggling operation involving alcoholic beverages worth one million hryvnias at the "Korczowa-Krakowiec" border crossing between Poland and Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of Lviv Customs on Facebook.

The driver of the Mercedes Sprinter minibus, a 21-year-old resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, declared only personal items during the customs inspection. However, during the vehicle inspection, customs officers found 107 bottles of alcoholic beverages in the luggage compartment – including whiskey, brandy, grappa, and cognac. As seen in the photo, the items include vintage and collectible alcohol, with many being of Italian origin.

Customs officials estimated the value of the alcohol at approximately one million hryvnias and prepared an administrative protocol against the offender under part 3 of Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine – "Non-declaration of goods that are subject to established prohibitions and restrictions by law."

The man faces a fine of 300 tax-exempt minimum income amounts for citizens – totaling 5,100 UAH, along with the potential confiscation of the goods or not.
