The "alien" mummies from Peru have largely been dismissed by the scientific community as a hoax, but researchers studying them hold a different view. José Zalte, a former director of the medical department of the Mexican Navy, analyzed the strange mummified beings and found evidence that they are 100% real biological organisms. The scientist claims that some of them were pregnant, which rules out the possibility of forgery, according to Daily Mail.
The topic of "alien" mummies first gained widespread attention in 2023 when journalist and UFO researcher Jaime Maussan presented two three-fingered mummified beings to the Mexican Congress. He claimed that the mummies most likely have extraterrestrial origins and that 30% of their genetic makeup remains unknown.
José Zalte and his team conducted X-rays, CT scans, DNA analysis, forensic fingerprinting, and tissue sample examinations of each of the more than 20 beings. The scientist states that the new data indicates these bodies are authentic and represent biological organisms.
Back in 2017, Maussan first reported discovering mysterious mummified humanoids with elongated skulls in Peru. Two years ago, during a presentation at the Mexican Congress, doctors brought in by Maussan stated that the bodies belonged to real, once-living beings. Now, scientists assert they are 100% confident that these mummies are genuine.
Joyce Mantilla, a Peruvian journalist who has closely collaborated with the scientists, supports their conclusions, especially after a fetus named Montserrat was found within one of the mummies. According to the journalist, this is one of the most significant pieces of evidence for the authenticity of these bodies.
Zalte and his team determined that the age of the beings at the time of death ranged from 15 to 25 years. The remains themselves are estimated to be between 1200 and 1600 years old.
Mantilla believes that the mummies belong to an unknown species of hominids, as they exhibit some physical characteristics of humans, while their hands, facial features, elongated skulls, and feet are entirely different. It is suggested that these beings could have been created through genetic blending. A study of a mummy named Maria, published in 2024, indicated that she bears biological similarities to humans but with numerous morphological and anatomical differences.
At the same time, another group of scientists also examined the mummies and concluded that they are dolls assembled from animal bones using modern synthetic adhesives.
However, Zalte argues that new research has not shown that these mummies were artificially created. For instance, the fingerprints of the mummies do not match any known hominids. According to the scientist, the authenticity of the mummies is also supported by DNA analysis, which reveals significant differences from human DNA.
Additionally, researchers found metallic plates on the mummies, which may be implants. These plates are composed of an alloy of copper, cadmium, osmium, aluminum, gold, and silver. Mantilla states that the metallic object on the head of the Montserrat mummy was placed on the body while the being was still alive. It is believed that these implants were inserted using an unknown technique.
