In Ivano-Frankivsk, a verdict was delivered for a captive militant from the "DNR".

The Ivano-Frankivsk City Court found Donetsk resident Oleksandr Semenov guilty of treason and collaborationist activities. The captured militant of the "DPR" military formations was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As stated in the court's ruling, issued on December 4, in February 2017, Oleksandr Semenov voluntarily signed a contract to serve in the "DPR" Sloviansk Brigade and served as a shooter until December 2022.

“Initially, the accused set up checkpoints at various sections of the front in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Later, he was transferred to the 114th separate motorized rifle brigade of the 'DPR'. As a shooter in this unit, he participated in combat actions against Ukrainian forces,” – reported the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.

In September 2023, Ukrainian Armed Forces detained Oleksandr Semenov near Krasnohorivka in Donetsk region. In court, he admitted his guilt and requested the lightest possible sentence.

After reviewing all the case materials, Judge Inessa Boliuk found the Donetsk resident guilty of treason and collaborationist activities, sentencing him to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. An appeal may be filed against the verdict.
