In the center of Lviv, a crossover driver fell ill while driving, causing an accident and ultimately passing away.

On the morning of Tuesday, November 12, a driver of a crossover felt unwell while behind the wheel on Svobody Avenue in the center of Lviv. The uncontrolled vehicle veered onto the bike lane and sidewalk, crashing into a power pole, after which the driver passed away.

According to the National Police of Lviv Region, the accident occurred on November 12 at approximately 07:30 at the intersection of Svobody Avenue and Hnatyuka Street in Lviv. Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of the Renault Koleos, a 57-year-old resident of a village in the Lviv district, suddenly felt unwell while driving. He lost control, causing the vehicle to veer onto the bike lane and sidewalk, crashing into a power pole and a traffic sign.

Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the driver died in the ambulance.

Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of the incident. A decision is being made regarding the initiation of criminal proceedings under part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
