A lab technician was dismissed from a school in Lviv due to a classroom conflict, and the principal received a reprimand for the incident.

The laboratory assistant from Lviv School No. 30, who insulted students during a lesson, has been dismissed. The school principal received a reprimand, and it has also been recommended to hold the physics teacher accountable for the incident that occurred during her class. These are the results of the internal investigation into the incident that took place in November 2024. This was reported on January 21st on the educational ombudsman's page.

«An internal investigation into the situation was conducted. The laboratory assistant was held accountable and received a reprimand (on December 2, 2024), and later he was dismissed from his position by mutual consent (on December 27, 2024). Following the commission's findings, the director of the institution was also held accountable (received a reprimand) for inadequate performance of his duties», – the ombudsman's report states.

At the same time, the director was instructed to:

• strictly adhere to the requirements of educational legislation to protect students from any forms of physical or psychological violence, humiliation of honor and dignity, and discrimination on any grounds;

• consider the possibility of reprimanding the physics teacher for violating the requirements of her job description;

• organize a safe and healthy educational environment in the institution.

We remind you that in December, a video of the incident at School No. 30 on Hetman Mazepa Street, 31 in Lviv appeared on social media. The commission established that the events depicted in the video occurred on November 21, 2024, during a physics lesson. The laboratory assistant shouted and spoke in a rude manner to the children, while the teacher took no action to stop him from making such remarks.
