In Chernivtsi, a 21-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz Vito died after colliding with a trolleybus.

A fatal accident occurred in Chernivtsi. A trolleybus collided with a Mercedes-Benz Vito. This was reported on Saturday, February 22, by the National Police press service.

The accident took place on the evening of Friday, February 21. Preliminary investigations revealed that a 21-year-old resident of the village of Serhii, who was driving the Mercedes-Benz Vito, crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with the trolleybus, which was operated by a 61-year-old local resident.

“As a result of the traffic accident, the minibus driver died at the scene from the injuries sustained. The body of the deceased was sent for forensic examination,” the report states.

Police investigators have recorded the incident in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules by Persons Driving Vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Law enforcement is establishing all circumstances surrounding the accident.

Recall that on February 7, in Lviv, a trolleybus hit a pedestrian at a public transport stop. Medics attempted to save the 74-year-old woman, but she suffered a sudden cardiac arrest during hospitalization.
