The Yavoriv District Court in Lviv region found a truck driver guilty of attempting to illegally transport a conscripted man to Poland. The accused transferred 100,000 UAH to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and received a penalty of a fine amounting to 85,000 UAH.
As stated in the verdict, which was published in the court registry, the incident occurred in January 2025. A native of Sheptytsky (formerly Chervonograd) was driving a MAN truck to Poland through the "Krakivets – Korchowa" border crossing in Lviv region and attempted to illegally transport a conscript who was trying to evade mobilization. The case materials indicate that driver Taras Kuzma instructed the evader to hide first under the trailer and then in the cab of the truck.
The border guards reported this incident, noting that the evader attached chemical warmers to his body to avoid freezing. He was spotted when he crawled out from under the trailer and attempted to climb into the truck's cabin.
A criminal case was opened against Taras Kuzma for the illegal transportation of a man abroad. He admitted his guilt, entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor, and transferred 100,000 UAH for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This case was examined by Judge Yuriy Koltun, who reviewed all the materials. He approved the agreement between the accused and the prosecutor and imposed a penalty of an 85,000 UAH fine. The verdict is still subject to appeal.
