Ukrainian Cup, 1/8 finals
“Rukh” (Lviv) – “Karpaty” (Lviv) – 1:0
Goal: Pidhurskyi, 79
Right from the start of the match, Miroschnichenko made a mistake with a pass to the goalkeeper, Krasnopir intercepted the ball and aimed for the far corner – Kemkin miraculously managed to get a foot on it and deflected it for a corner. Both teams displayed fierce competition until the middle of the half, with hardly any scoring opportunities.
Pastukh had a chance after a cross from Syich into the penalty area, but he shot straight at Kemkin. Ocheretko responded with a long-range shot – Ledviy had some trouble catching it. Slyusar also tried his luck with a powerful shot, but it went over the goal.
At the end of the half, both teams exchanged dangerous moments: first, Kemkin saved a shot from a tight angle by Syich, and then Ledviy reacted to a shot from Stenio.
The teams continued to circle around each other's goals, shooting, but the ball stubbornly refused to find the back of the net. The "Rukh" coach responded with three substitutions, two of which ultimately proved fatal for "Karpaty." In the 79th minute, Klajver fought for the ball from Ocheretko, passed it to Pidhurskyi, who from about 27 meters struck low into the left corner. No matter how hard "Karpaty" tried to equalize – fortune was on the side of the "yellow-blacks" that evening. As a result, it ended 1:0, and "Rukh" will continue their fight in the Ukrainian Cup.
