On Monday, November 11, Russian occupiers struck the Nikopol district in Dnipropetrovsk region. Specifically, Nikopol was affected, resulting in casualties and injuries among local residents, reported the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the Russians shell the city with artillery on November 11 during the day. As a result of the strike, residential buildings, a café, a medical facility, shops, and vehicles were damaged.
“Due to the artillery shelling, two people died in the district center. Five more locals were injured, two of whom are in serious condition,” reported Serhiy Lysak.
According to Serhiy Lysak, a woman whose identity is being established and a 30-year-old doctor who worked at the local clinic were killed. An artillery shell hit directly into the clinic, severely injuring the deceased's colleague.
“In addition to the medical facility, an industrial enterprise, two educational institutions, as well as two shops, a bank, and a café were damaged. Three apartment buildings and two cars were hit, with another car completely destroyed,” reported Serhiy Lysak.
In connection with this incident, the prosecutor's office opened a criminal proceeding under part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war combined with intentional murder).
It is worth noting that on November 11, the Russians also launched a ballistic missile at Kryvyi Rih, which struck a residential high-rise building. As a result of the attack, 14 people were injured. According to Serhiy Lysak, a woman and three children may be trapped under the rubble of the building, and search and rescue operations are ongoing.
