Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Petro Olenych, who is suspected of land corruption, has been released from custody after posting bail of 15 million UAH. This was reported on Friday, February 21, by Suspilne.

On Friday, February 7, the High Anti-Corruption Court determined a preventive measure for Petro Olenych, which involved detention until April 6, 2025, with the option of posting bail. The spokesperson for the High Anti-Corruption Court, Olesya Chemeris, stated on Friday, February 21, in a comment to Suspіlne, that the entire bail amount of 15 million UAH was paid for the official, allowing him to be released.

What Petro Olenych is suspected of

On Thursday, February 6, NABU and SAP uncovered the activities of a criminal organization within the Kyiv City Council that was seizing state lands for construction. Law enforcement did not disclose the names of the suspects, but according to "Economic Truth," among those involved in the case are former deputy Denys Komarnytskyi, Deputy Mayor of Kyiv Vitalii Klitschko Petro Olenych, head of the land commission Mykhailo Terentiev, and commission member Olena Marchenko. In total, that day, law enforcement detained seven individuals and announced 10 suspicions.

According to law enforcement, the suspects identified land plots and registered buildings that had never existed on those plots under the names of controlled individuals. They then submitted requests to the city council for the right to own the land for servicing these structures, which allowed them to avoid auctions. After the requests were submitted, the deputies involved in the scheme voted to transfer land rights, for which they received bribes in the form of money and real estate.
