In the Carpathians, three communities have lost power due to heavy snowfall.

Meteorologists forecast cloudy weather and wet snow in the Prykarpattia region from December 10 to 12.

As a result of heavy snowfall and strong winds, three localities in the Kalush region are completely without electricity. In the mountainous areas, power poles have fallen and power lines have been severed due to the adverse weather conditions.

According to reports from "Prykarpattiaoblenergo" on December 10, as of 9:30 AM, three localities in the Kalush area remain without power, while an additional twelve localities are partially disconnected.

“Moreover, the situation is complicated in the mountainous regions. In the Kosiv area, there have been 31 outages on 0.4 kV lines and 15 outages on 0.4 kV lines in the Verkhovyna community. The adverse weather has also resulted in downed power poles and severed power lines,” noted the energy providers.

According to information from the Recovery and Infrastructure Development Service in Ivano-Frankivsk region, 21 units of special equipment and 30 workers have been deployed to mitigate the effects of significant snowfall in the highland areas. The main roads in the region have been cleared.

Forecasters predict cloudy weather with wet snow and icy conditions on the roads in Prykarpattia from December 10-12. Air temperatures will range from -3 °C at night to 2 °C during the day, with nighttime temperatures at the end of the week expected to be between -3 and -8 °C, and daytime temperatures ranging from -3 °C to 2 °C.
