In Lviv region, authorities shut down a smuggling channel involving equipment valued over 32 million UAH.

Detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) have shut down a smuggling channel for electronics in Lviv region. Among the seized goods valued at 32 million UAH are computers, drones, watches, and household appliances.

As stated in a statement by the BEB, detectives uncovered participants of a criminal scheme who were illegally importing large shipments of electronics and accessories from well-known manufacturers. Mobile phones, computers, drones, tablets, and other household appliances were smuggled across the Ukrainian border. Among the goods hidden from customs control were air purifiers, vacuum cleaners, watches, laptops, night vision devices, and more.

The electronics were sold online and through messenger groups, as well as in a store for cash. BEB detectives conducted searches and seized 1,371 units of smuggled electronics valued at over 32 million UAH.

An investigation is ongoing regarding the criminal proceedings for an offense under Part 2 of Article 201-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Smuggling of goods).
