In Lviv region, a 34-year-old Audi driver fatally struck a pedestrian and fled the scene.

On Sunday evening, January 19, in the village of Kam'yane in the Stryi district, a 44-year-old pedestrian was killed as a result of being hit by a car. This was reported by the police of the Lviv region.

According to the authorities, the driver of the Audi Q5, a 34-year-old resident of one of the villages in the area, struck the pedestrian, a 44-year-old local resident. The man succumbed to his injuries before the ambulance arrived. The driver fled the scene of the accident, but the police were able to determine her whereabouts.

Following the incident, investigators opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty under this article includes imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, along with a ban on driving for up to three years or without such a ban. Law enforcement officials are working to establish all circumstances surrounding the events.
