In the Kursk region, the deputy governor of Russia's Primorsky Krai, who was fighting against Ukraine, has been killed.

The commander of the volunteer unit "Tiger," Sergey Yefremov, who fought against Ukraine, was killed on the spot.

The Deputy Governor of Primorsky Krai and commander of the Russian volunteer unit "Tiger," Sergey Efremov, was killed in the Kursk region of Russia. His vehicle was blown up by a mine, as reported on Sunday, February 2, by the Governor of Primorsky Krai, Oleg Kozhemyako.

According to the Russian official, Efremov was killed while returning from a combat mission in the Kursk region. The Russian clarified that the Deputy Governor of Primorsky Krai was heading for reconnaissance – an intelligence operation conducted personally by the commander and staff officers before assaults.

According to sources close to Russian soldiers in propagandistic media, Efremov's vehicle struck a mine. Along with the Russian high-ranking official, another officer, who was likely accompanying him for reconnaissance, also died.

Efremov was the commander of the volunteer unit "Tiger," which was formed in the summer of 2022 based on the 155th brigade of the Pacific Fleet's Marine Corps. Since August 2024, he had been involved in combat against Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region.
