On Monday, January 20, FC "Karpaty" announced on their website the transfer of four players from "Rukh." The newcomers to Vladyslav Lupashko's team include right-back Oleksiy Syich, midfielders Illia Kvasnytsia and Oleg Fedor, and forward Ihor Krasnopir. The Lviv club creatively introduced the new players in the style of the series "Squid Game."
Krasnopir and Syich signed long-term contracts with the "lions," while Kvasnytsia and Fedor will defend the colors of the "green-whites" on loan with a subsequent obligation to buy during 2025.
Krasnopir began his professional football journey at "Yunior" (Makaryv) and "Kalynivka." In the summer of 2022, he joined "Obolon," helping the team to promote from the First League to the UPL (playing 52 matches, scoring 10 goals, and providing 3 assists). The first part of the current season was spent with "Rukh" (17 matches, 6 goals).
Syich is a product of "Karpaty." He made his UPL debut at the age of 19. He has played for "Karpaty" Halych, "Rukh," and Belgian side "Kortrijk" (on loan). This season, he has appeared in 16 matches. In November 2024, he made his debut for the national team of Ukraine.
Kvasnytsia alternated his football career between Chernivtsi's "Bukovyna," Donetsk's "Shakhtar," and Lviv's "Karpaty." In the fall of 2020, he joined "Rukh," making his UPL debut there. Overall, he has played 55 matches in the UPL, scoring 12 goals. He is also a player for the Ukrainian youth national team.
Oleg Fedor started his football career at "Karpaty." In the fall of 2020, he became a player for "Rukh." He made his UPL debut in September 2023 (having played 32 matches in the elite division overall). He is a player for the Ukrainian youth national team.
As a reminder, on December 31, two Lviv clubs shocked the public with the news of their merger under the "Karpaty" brand for the 2025/26 season. They finished the first part of the current UPL season close together – "Karpaty" in sixth place with 24 points, and "Rukh" in seventh with one point less.
