Former head of the Ternopil Regional Council, Mykhailo Holovko, is suspected of declaring false information amounting to 2 million UAH.
The former head of the Ternopil Regional Council, Mykhailo Holovko, has received another suspicion from NABU and SAP. He is suspected of failing to declare assets worth over 2 million UAH. In particular, this concerns an apartment with an area of over 200 m2, which belongs to his mother, but where he lived with his family. This property is located in the "Novyi Svit" neighborhood of Ternopil, near the city lake.
On February 21, NABU and SAP employees informed the former head of the regional council and member of parliament in the 7th and 8th convocations, Mykhailo Holovko, of the suspicion. According to data from NABU, while serving as head of the Ternopil Regional Council, the suspect did not include in his declarations for 2022-2023 an apartment with an area of 201.9 m2. This property belongs to his mother, but Mykhailo Holovko lived there with all family members.
Additionally, in his 2022 declaration, the former head of the Ternopil Regional Council failed to report funds in his bank account, as well as non-residential premises, specifically a parking space, a car wash, and a storage room, which belong to his family members, added SAP.
Mykhailo Holovko was informed of the suspicion under part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Declaration of false information). He faces a fine of up to 56,000 UAH or 240 hours of community service, or imprisonment for up to two years, with a prohibition on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to three years.
Additionally, it should be noted that there is currently a criminal case regarding the accusation of Mykhailo Holovko for bribery being considered in the High Anti-Corruption Court. The investigation suspects that Holovko, along with two former deputies of the head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration, demanded from a private enterprise owner 1.8 million UAH. The official received 600,000 UAH from this amount.
It is also worth mentioning that in the fall of 2023, the police conducted an inspection of the apartment where Holovko's family resides. Law enforcement discovered that several different premises had been built on the roof above two paired apartments. One contains a gym, while the other houses a generator. Mykhailo Holovko commented to ZAXID.NET that his family purchased the apartment with such a project and has the necessary permits. In the spring of 2024, the former head of the Ternopil Regional Council was ordered to dismantle this addition on the roof of the high-rise building.
